Cranbourne Secondary College

A series of projects were undertaken at Cranbourne Secondary College, including a new 2-court sports hall and community facility, an upgrade to an existing performing arts centre and new outdoor learning spaces and associated landscape works.

The new sports hall includes retractable seating for 1000 people, creating a sense of school pride and maximising the use of the facility by the local community. The building provides an edge to the existing ill-defined campus, improving security and activation for this end of the campus and the landscaped areas.  The building provides an edge to the existing ill-defined campus, improving security and activation for this end of the campus and the landscaped areas.

New landscape works have opened up an area that was previously not permitted to be used by students, offering an expansive new area for passive play and outdoor  learning. Several sheds and maintenance buildings were demolished, while new entrances were provided to an adjacent performing arts building, improving sight lines  throughout the space. The area is designed with indigenous community input to allow it to grow into a regional ‘gathering place’ for the community.
