Gasworks Art Park Access Project

This project invovled the refurbishment of public toilet facilities at Gasworks Art Park including a new DDA Accessible toilet compliant with AS1428. The existing nineteenth century building  has a renewed presence, with new steel cladding signifying a durable refurbished entrance space.  The lighting and reflective cladding provides good safety and CPTED principles for this large park area. The toilets meet Australian Standards for designing for access, and are designed to achieve maximum spatial efficiency. Internally, existing brick was exposed and refurbished, celebrating the building's heritage and enlivening often disregarded spaces.
