Chemical Library

This project has enabled the relocation of all chemical stores at CSIRO Clayton, placing them within one building. The 200m2 existing building, previously used for MIEX testing, was remodelled to allow for its new use. The facility houses class 3, class 4, class 5, class 6, class 8, class 9, and PG I, PG II and PG II goods over approximately 800 lineal metres of storage space.

Particularly aromatic chemicals are segregated within the design, going beyond requirements to provide a safe user experience.

As the facility will be used directly by all CSIRO staff, user experience is at the forefront of the design, delivering easily navigable spaces.

There is an additional room in the design for the storage of chemicals within fridges and freezers.
