South Melbourne Market Outdoor Food Hall

The project aims to enhance an existing back-of-house entrance to the South Melbourne Market, improving its public presence and providing external amenity for the adjoining food hall.

We have designed the structure to minimise construction time and allow for potential disassembly in the future. Latticed timber elements will be prefabricated before being assembled on site, while timber A-frames will be used instead of columns to reduce the need of costly and invasive footings.

The roof includes skylit areas and will incorporate lighting to create a warm atmosphere and highlight this new entrance to the market.

This project is currently on-hold subject to a master planning process.
